Sail Away, sail away, sail away...

Daniel and I have booked a cruise from New Orleans to Mexico leaving October 18th. We've never been on a cruise, and everyone says you'll either love it or hate it. Obviously, we are hoping for the first! Daniel has really been wanting to do a warm/beachy vacation, and I've been wanting to spend a day or two in New Orleans, so this was a quick, cheap way to do both. It is certainly inexpensive when you consider all your food is included. so, if anyone is free October 18th, come join us on the Carnival Fantasy! I've read enough negative things on the internet, so please, positive comments only!

Yay! We had a great time! I did stay half drunk the whole time--or whole drunk half the time. One of those, I think.

I'll be in New Orleans that weekend you leave! A friend and I are going to see the NKOTB that Saturday night. Laugh all you want, but I'll be reverting back to my school girl self for one night.

One thing I must recommend for New Orleans is breakfast, brunch, or lunch at Luke (www.lukeneworleans.com). We eat there at least once every time we go to New Orleans. I've had the french toast, the pancakes, and the steamed mussels - all delish. Depending on where you are staying, it might be a little out of the way, but a charming walk to the warehouse district. If you are looking for yummy French pastries and coffee, try Croissant D'Or on Ursulines in the Quarter. Truly the best almond croissant I've ever had. I love New Orleans!

I've never been on a cruise, but it sounds fun! I am itching for a vacation, but it looks like football season will have to do...
