Over the last few months, Daniel and I seem to have been hit by one expense after another. Paying a ton in taxes, car insurance, both cars in the shop, and of course the regular bills that have to be paid. Well, add to that list that our A.C. went out last night. Our house is only a year an a half old, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed that the problem is minor. It is under warranty for parts, but one company we called quoted $500- $800 to come out and work on it...labor only! They don't even know what is wrong with it. Seriously? Needless to say we are making lots of other calls to find someone cheaper than that.
So, back to my title. It's about that lovely, emotional time of the month for me, so of course every emotion is multiplied by about 1000. My friend Mel had a similar meltdown yesterday and today posted about all the wonderful things she has to be thankful for and I am trying to learn from her example.
I am very thankful to have a wonderful, loving, supportive husband and family, I am thankful that I have two sisters who are my best friends, I am thankful that I have great friends who can cheer me up or just listen, I am thankful that I have a home that has A.C. that can break, I'm thankful that my car still gets me from A to B and is still cheaper than a car payment every month, I'm thankful for my garden that gives me healthy food to eat and beautiful flowers to brighten my day, I'm thankful for my pets that always want to snuggle or just hang out with me (except for Gracie of course), I'm thankful that I have a job. Every day is a gift.
So, for anyone else out there having a bad day, week, month, year, I hope you will take a moment and just remember how lucky you are. There are two sayings I use frequently, "we make plans and God laughs" and "everything happens for a reason". I have found both of these statements to be true.

sigh. Wish I was there so we could have a glass (bottle) of wine together.
BTW: Call Bobby and Oxford Heating and Air. Seriously, that man is a miracle worker. And he's reasonable too.
So sorry to hear about your bad month! Thanks for reminding me to be thankful. I've been wallowing in self pity because Eden has been so cranky. Thank you for steering me in the right direction.
OH my gosh! What an amazing woman you are! You are the rock we all turn to. Thanks for bringing life into focus for me. I love you. MOM
Surely you got your AC fixed, right? That is a stinker. I hope it all went OK.
